About the course
We've gathered some of Sweden's best DJs to teach you the technique, timing and showmanship. Don't expect sync buttons and pre-mixed mash-ups. During this course you will mainly learn to train your ear and your skills with the mixing board and CD players.
This course gives you the tools you need to get started DJing, and we focus on teaching you the craft first. Whatever effects you want to add to your music, you'll learn how to do them manually, so you can confidently impress live, even when the technology fails. The course includes material that teaches you basic mixing techniques. There is no restriction on the genre of music you learn to DJ, and we encourage you to play music from your preferred genre to keep you comfortable while learning different DJ techniques.
Over two intensive days, you'll get all the tools you need to get started DJing. In the morning there are lectures where new techniques & methods are taught, and after lunch you will have plenty of time to test the technique and the latest equipment available on site. During the afternoons you will also get individual help according to your own personal development.
COURSE CONTENT

Learn the basics of DJ equipment, what each button and function does and how to use them effectively. We'll go through mixing desks, players and headphones to give you full control.

Learn to match the tempo and rhythm of two songs to create seamless transitions. We focus on training your ear and using the tools of the equipment.

Gain an understanding of how songs are structured with intro, verse, drop and outro. This knowledge will help you choose the right moment to mix in and out.

Learn how to combine two songs in real time to create unique mixes. Here we practice improvising and thinking creatively while playing.

Explore how you can add acapellas over instrumental tracks to give your mix a personal touch. The technique helps you stand out and create dynamic sets.

Prepare yourself to quickly resolve technical issues that may arise during a gig. We will go through common issues and how to deal with them.

Use looping and hot cues to create interesting transitions and build energy in your mixes. We'll also show you how effects can elevate your performances.

Learn how to record and produce a professional mixtape that showcases your DJ skills. The mixtape becomes an important part of your portfolio and marketing

You don't need any prior knowledge of music to apply for this course, you can be a complete beginner. We will help you along the way to discover your musical creativity and rhythm and to get comfortable with the DJ equipment.
Once you have applied and received confirmation, your place is booked and ready.

We are a Pioneer certified school, which means that we have the latest DJ equipment from the world leader Pioneer on site with us. We have over six different setups with CD players and mixers or controllers, and you will get to try DJing on all of them. This means that we have everything on site with us, and you do not need to bring anything more than headphones. Apart from headphones, all you need is a good setup!
