About the course
The video game industry has never grown so much, and Sweden and Stockholm are one of the top places in the world for video game development. Computer games, virtual reality and 360-degree video require a whole new way of thinking when it comes to sound design. Today, those who work with sound in games are also expected to manage the entire chain from recording technology to implementation.
In this course you will get a broad education in composition, sound design, music production and implementation that will give you the skills that the industry currently demands. You will learn how to create your own sounds, how to include sound design in your music, how to implement music and sound in games using specific software, how to create your own library, create from given references, create templates specifically for media / game production, VO's, editing, mixing and mastering in middleware with a focus on Wwise, and much more!
Taught in small groups, you will have the opportunity to develop your own sound and workflow for implementation in real games during the course. The course is designed to give you all the tools, knowledge and practical skills to work with sound and music for video games. You will work a lot in project form and you will be given the opportunity to constantly expand your portfolio which is directly crucial when applying for jobs.

To take this course, there are both prerequisites and requirements for a certain type of equipment that you need to participate in the course.
Prerequisites: You need to have experience with a DAW and music production in it. Previous experience in Sound Design is also good, but not a requirement.
There are no specific requirements for previous education, and the age limit is 16 years.
-
It's absolutely great if you have previous experience in producing sound and music for media and if you have previous experience in programming your own sounds with different types of synths and methods, but it's not a requirement for you to take the course. During the course you will also learn how to produce sounds with different sources, from synths to libraries, and from your own recordings to the most common methods. You'll also learn how to glue everything together to bring your sounds to life.
-
As we know, the gaming world is primarily a "PC world", but when it comes to producing sound for games, there is no particular limitation between the two. The only limitation you need to keep in mind is the graphics card, for example, but you can also install Windows on any Mac computer you want, which means that both work equally well. It might be good to invest in a good graphics card for the future, but for this course it is not necessary.
