YH Program / GAME AUDIO PRODUCER & SOUND DESIGNER

This course provides you with theoretical and practical knowledge of all the components required to create song projects from idea to finished song, as well as analyze and evaluate your own and others' productions. You will be able to handle samples, midi, recording techniques, various mixing techniques and all Logic functions, as well as learn about third-party plugins. You will work on producing and creating music in different genres, and learn to manage, take responsibility for and professionally edit recordings.

This course gives you an understanding of and skills in arranging, composing and songwriting. You will gain knowledge of music theory from a producer's perspective, and learn how to write and compose music and lyrics for your own or others' productions.

During this course, you will work on the soundscape and workflow of music production, and develop your skills in advanced sound design and production mixing. You will build your workflow efficiently and work with analog, digital and sample-based sound design, processing and nuance in your mixing work.

During this course, you will get an overview of your future career fields and their fundamental building blocks. During the course, you will gain an insight into the music industry, sound design for the games industry, sound engineering for the film industry, as well as the advertising and media industry, and will thus be able to focus on the area of the market that interests you most.

This course covers how audio is edited and applied in different formats for digital media, and gives you an understanding of the different media available, the interaction between them and how the work process looks like in each media.

During this course, you will learn how to start your own business and the implications of writing a business plan and running your own business. You will learn how to deal with relevant business economics, accounting and laws that are important for your particular business idea.

In this course you will learn about mixing, mastering, analog mixing, adaptive sound design, vocal recording and vocal production. You'll work hands-on on sound engineering projects for film, radio, podcasts and computer games. This course gives you an in-depth look at advanced finishing techniques for your sound and music creation.

During this course, you will learn how brands are communicated and promoted, and what tools and methods you can use to promote yourself and other brands. You will learn about how to work with project planning in artist profiling, as well as how to build strategies to be able to reach out through the noise using communication and presence in social and digital media.

During this course you will gain an understanding of copyright and contractual situations between companies, publishers, composers and musicians. You will learn to understand the terminology of music law, and to be able to independently sign your own national and international agreements.

During your degree project, you will carry out a self-selected music or sound-related investigation, where you plan, structure and carry out your degree project. You will also document and compile a report on your work, which you will present at the end.

Work-based learning is your internship period, and during this course you will have an internship at a workplace of your choice in the relevant industry. This period gives you professional experience together with your supervisor, and also gives you time and opportunity to gain perspective and experience on how the different professional roles are realized and shaped within professional working environments.
